How to Choose Furniture Handle Size (Hole Spacing)?

The most common mistake when replacing a furniture handle is choosing the wrong size. The determining measurement for handles is the hole spacing (distance between hole centers) between the two screw holes, given in mm.

How is hole spacing measured?

Remove the existing handle and measure the distance from center to center of the two screw holes. Common measurements are 96 mm, 128 mm, 160 mm, and 192 mm. The hole spacing of the new handle must be the same as the existing holes; otherwise, you will need to re-drill the cabinet door.

Which handle is used where?
